(Sung to the tune of “Three little birds” by Bob Marley)
Poem, 16 March 2019.
Start worrying about everything
Cause every little thing is gonna breakdown.
Singing: start worrying about everything
Cause every little thing is gonna breakdown!
I woke up this morning
And groaned with the rising pain
Emanating from my joints,
And every little muscle
Squeaking and straining
With agony, pure and true.
Saying: This is my message to you-ou-ou.
Singing: start worrying about everything
Cause every little thing is gonna breakdown.
Singing: start worrying about everything
Cause every little thing is gonna breakdown!
I woke up this morning
And groaned with the rising pain
Emanating from my stomach,
And every little twitch
Brings back guilty reminders
Of that delicious rich dinner
Saying: This is my message to you-ou-ou.
I woke up this morning
And groaned with the persistent ringing
Emanating from my ears,
And every little sound
Adding to the maelstrom
Of discord, pure and true
Saying: This is my message to you-ou-ou.
I woke up this morning
And examined all the wrinkles
Evolving on my face,
And every little vein
Popping up and twisting
Around my aching, contorted legs
Saying: This is my message to you-ou-ou.
I woke up this morning
With no desire for anything
Beyond lying in bed,
And every little pending task
Strives to niggle and overstate
My guilt, pure and true.
Saying: This is my message to you-ou-ou.
I woke up this morning
With no recollection of anything
Beyond my happy childhood days,
And every little memory
Leaves me smiling and cooing
With pleasure, pure and true
Saying: This is my message to you-ou-ou.
Singing: Don’t worry about a thing
Cause every little thing is gonna be alright.
Singing: Don’t worry about a thing
Cause every little thing is gonna be alright!
I hope to remain at the joint pain stage and not progress any further… 😬
😉
